Skull Anatomy Poly T Shirt - Retro Deaths Head Slim Fit Shirt - Vintage Style American Hipster - Unisex Mens Womens Apparel - All Seeing Eye - $26

Ladies and gents alike can stay gold in our retro style, poly-cotton blend, unisex T-shirt featuring a vintage anatomy skull illustration, often seen as a symbol of death and our own mortality. The human brain cannot separate the image of the human skull from the familiar human face, and therefore both the death and the life of the skull are symbolized.

Moreover, a human skull with its large eye sockets displays a degree of "neoteny", which humans often find visually appealing - yet a skull is also obviously dead. As such, human skulls often have a greater visual appeal than the other bones of the human skeleton, and can fascinate even as they repel. Our present society predominantly associates skulls with death and evil. The iconography of the memento mori theme symbolized in art by the skull was rather popular in Europe since Renaissance times. However, to some ancient societies it is believed to have had the opposite association, where objects like crystal skulls represent Life: the honoring of humanity in the flesh and the embodiment of consciousness.

One of the best-known examples of skull symbolism occurs in Shakespeare's Hamlet, where the title character recognizes the skull of an old friend: "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest. . ." The skull inspires in Hamlet a bitter soliloquy of despair and rough ironic humor.

No matter how you see it though, this anatomical skull art with the All Seeing Eye makes one majestic looking shirt. Ours is an ultra-soft, ultra-comfy slim-fit shirt that feels like you’ve owned it for years the moment you put it on.
