Arms of the United States of America - Patriotic Aesthetic Wall Art Print - Victorian Wall Art Poster - 1800’s Patriot Americana Wall Decor

Behold this elaborate martial allegory of the United States by J.H. Buford / J.E. Baker from 1864. We see at the top our Lady Liberty or "Columbia", wearing a Phrygian cap and armed with sword, shield, and the American flag, and enthroned in the clouds. The Latin words "E Pluribus Unum" and an arch of thirteen stars appear above her. Below, an eagle perches atop a shield adorned by the stars and stripes. In his talons he holds arrows and the symbolic olive branch. At left stands an American Indian with a bow in hand. At right is a sailor with an anchor and four flags. Around the base of the shield are muskets, tomahawks, cannon, cannonballs, and a sword. Below, almost hidden in darkness, is a Union encampment (left) in sight of the U.S. Capitol and the Potomac River (right).

This print is a highly detailed scan of the original published plate and is truly an amazing patriotic image perfect for framing!

This giclee quality art is printed on heavyweight matte archival / acid-free museum quality stock with lightfast inks rated 100+ years. No watermark will appear on your print. The artwork is printed with a surrounding white margin (included in print size) to aid in framing/matting the print. Your purchase will ship priority mail (US) in a protective kraft tube made from 70-100% post-consumer recycled content and up to 30% secondary recycled content.

Given the nature of vintage artwork created before the standardization of print and frame sizes, this item may not conform exactly to the dimensions you choose. To allow for the odd sizing of these images they are printed approximately 2 inches smaller than the paper they are on. This way you receive a standard size, with a white surrounding border that allows for easy framing, with or without a matte.
