Odd Fellows Membership Certificate Vintage Art Print - in 3 sizes from $38

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is a religiously and politically independent fraternal order founded in 1819 by Thomas Wildey in Baltimore, Maryland. The order is also known as the Triple Link Fraternity, referring to the order's "Triple Links" symbol, alluding to its motto "Friendship, Love and Truth". Beyond fraternal and recreational activities, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows promotes the ethics of reciprocity and charity, by implied inspiration of Judeo-Christian ethics. It was the first fraternal order to allow membership of both men and women. The Sovereign Grand Lodge of all fraternal orders of Odd Fellows enrolls some 600,000 members divided in approximately 10,000 lodges in 26 countries.

This membership certificate, "Odd Fellowship Illustrated", published in 1877, was bestowed upon those initiated into the Independent Order of Odd Fellows during the Victorian period. The certificate is surrounded with illustrations of biblical scenes, and captioned with the distinguishing principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth.
