Revel in the 'ol timey splendor of this historic Civil War era map of Nashville Tennessee c1860. This detailed city map is oriented with southwest at the top [north to the lower right] and shows streets, railroads, buildings (major ones identified), rivers and streams, and larger land tracts with owners' names.

This map is particularly interesting due to the fact that it was a paper map mounted on linen. The adhesive has yellowed severely with age and as a result the brush strokes and threads of linen show through creating an unintentional yet beautiful wood grain effect. Created by the US Army Military Division of the Mississippi, it is signed with ink in the lower right portion: From Chief Eng'rs Office, H'd Qu'rs Mil'y Div'n of the Mis., O.M. Poe, Capt & Actg Chf Eng'r.
