The oversized geographical charts contained in the original illustrated atlas are among the most beautiful and impressive charts published in the 1800's. Yaggy created dramatic colors and contrasts with his chromolithographic images of the world, its regions, and inhabitants. The ten charts in this set [available, but not included in this listing] were originally supplied in a large wooden portfolio that also served as a display to be used in classrooms, and a teacher’s handbook was issued to assist with instruction.

This particular print features the pictorially defined climatic zone with illustrations of the flora and fauna and the natural inhabitants - includ two Inuit in canoes battling a polar bear!
